The Joy of Dumplings
I love dumplings.  I love exploring the hidden nooks of cities.  How best to combine these two passions?  Well, I give tours to like minded food adventurers of course!
I have been doing this for fun for the past two years.  It was something of a lark that I asked a friend of mine if he would like to walk around Chinatown trying dumplings to see which one was best.  We quickly gathered over twenty people to join us and off we went.  It was so incredibly awesome, we continued to do these tours first doing soup dumplings, then heading over to Flushing, all the while keeping the whole thing very lo-tech and lo-key.
Over time, I have gotten pretty organized and professional about the process.  I use Gidsy as my booking engine, I got various social media accounts set up, I have spreadsheets tracking bookers, and I am in the process of finalizing the official Dumplr website (the name was something of a joke and a play on the tech startup names, but it stuck).
Now I am organizing two tours next week for charity.  Plenty of folks got beaten down by Hurricane Sandy.  Lots of businesses in Chinatown took a financial hit.  What better way to help out than to spend money with these hard hit businesses while supporting those still recovering from the storm?  With a dumpling tour and donating all proceeds to help with the Sandy recovery efforts!  So please sign up for one (or both) of the tours, or share with your friends, family, and work colleagues.

Thanks a lot and I look forward to seeing you there as I continue to spread the Joy of Dumpling!
